Most of my notes have become obsolete during the upgrade phases of Xorg 7.2 and up.
It used to be very difficult to get dual screens working – but now thanks to the display manager (included in Ubuntu 7.10 and higher) it’s really damn easy.
For historic purposes, my old xorg.conf file is below:
My Xorg config for dual head with nVidia cards. It’s worked without much modification for my old Ti4200, and my new 6800GS.
I also use dual LCDs, one on the normal ol’ VGA and one is on DVI.
